MoreOnce you overcome the impression created by the large form of the sculptures, the proof of her technical skill and her knowledge of the wood’s possibilities, what fascinates is the balance between forcefulness and fragility that can be seen in Margarita Checa’s work. Maybe the best example is represented by “Logos”, sculpture in which the artist carves the most delicate embrace between a giant, six and a half feet tall in yacushapana wood and his smaller couple in olive wood. “I am that. One becomes strong because one carries his weak side. Deep inside the duality between fragility and forcefulness doesn’t exist. Everything is intercommunicated.
